Philips Water Filter

Finally, a trusted brand release a water filter that is decent price and does exactly what Amway water filter does, using UV + 2 filters.

I have not tested its ppm reading but from the NSF certification, definitely one of the best in Malaysia minus all the craps about energy water, clustering etc.

Hi,

Actually the NSF standards are a bit confusing. When a product is said to be certified to certain standards, it does not really mean that the product complies to all the reduction claims. The Company seeking certification must inform WQA/NSF as to which performance claims it wants certified. WQA tests those claims and ensure the companies product literature clearly state which contaminants we tested and certified.

For instance, compare Philips and eSpring.

http://www.wqa.org/goldseal/detail.cfm?tableDefID=3&companyID=6092

http://www.wqa.org/goldseal/detail.cfm?tableDefID=3&companyID=220117

The reduction claims by eSpring is much more than that of Philips. I believe this is one of the reason why eSpring is much more expensive that Philips, apart from the MLM factor.

But of course, this does not mean that Philips filter is not as good as eSpring. Philips might be able to match eSpring's reduction claims but you won't know since it is not verified by NSF/WQA.

If you want to be safe, ask for a bottle of Philips water from supermarket promoters and have it tested at a independent test lab. =B

Hi,

Unfortunately Phillips did not reply my enquiries on their website, i really wanted to get one with my personal $$$ at a negotiated price since i will be just doing it for the public. But they are not responding.

As for the NSF certification, what you say is true, that is why you must always check the NSF number, that number shows what exactly was certified. Like in the prev diaxxx case for eg, its certified for not doing/adding anything to the water and does not mean anything else.

Hi,

If you are planning to buy an air purifier, you could consider getting the Philips filter at RM1299 and receive a free Philips air purifier worth RM899. Offer is available at Carrefour until end of this month. With the free gift, the water filter would only cost RM400. ;)
